Barbados Holidays

It was once the case that only the rich and successful were able to take their Barbados villas in such an exotic place as Barbados, but that is no longer true. Barbados is one of the most sought after vacation spots in the Caribbean and more and more people are making their way to the island every year, some looking for rest and relaxation and others looking for fun activities.

Attractions

Barbados has Host of activities to enjoy including, hiking, horse-riding, quad-biking, mountain-biking and golfing. Glass bottom boat and submarine rides are also available. The Atlantis Submarine dives to 55 feet and passengers can view a coral reef and its abundance of marine life.

Barbados also has its own wildlife reserve in St Peter, on the northern side of the island. Here you can see the Barbados green monkey, a variety of birds like Parrots, Flamingos, Peacocks, Brown Pelicans and Sparrows and reptiles like Iguanas, Turtles, Snakes and Tortoises. Barbados is also home to some non-native animals like, Brocket Deer, Agouti, Caiman and Armadillo.

Beaches

Barbados has some of the worlds best beaches, no matter what holiday makers are looking for, the "platinum coast" on the west is calm and perfect for those looking to sunbathe or to go snorkeling. Eighteen billionaires are said to live in the area. The beaches on the Atlantic coast are home to some world-class waves, perfect for surfing.

Cuisine

Barbados is a Caribbean destination that offers a mix of International and regional cuisine in a variety of locations from 5-star dining to beach side cafes. International cuisine such as French, Italian and Japanese is available but if you would prefer to sample to local cuisine then you should try Bajan.

Staying in Barbados

There are many ways to stay in Barbados, the island has many hotels and there are also many holiday home owners who rent out their apartments or villas in Barbados to holiday makers year round.
